Board Member Bios
Shelly Youree, Treasurer
Shelly has been a member of the South Side Area School District Board of Directors since 2001. She is a graduate of South Side Area School District in 1975 and of Bradford Business School in 1976. Shelly has been a past Vice-President and currently serving as Treasurer of the school district and also serving on the Citizen’s Advisory Committee and the negotiations committee for the professional staff. She has worked in the past as a receptionist for Heritage Valley. She and her husband Cam Youree have three children. All three are graduates of South Side. Her greatest moment has been to hand each of her children their high school diplomas. They are the proud grandparents of two grandchildren, Ty and Savanna. Shelly's board member term ends in 2025.

Larry Smith
Larry and his family reside in Greene Township. Larry's board member term ends in 2025. Mr. Smith was appointed to the school board in the early fall of 2010. Larry was born and raised in Beaver County, in the footprint of the South Side Area School District. He has remained as a resident of the district his entire life. Larry is an alumni of South Side, having graduated in 1975. He and his wife Lori have a daughter Cassie, a 2009 graduate of the district. Larry is very active within the community, assisting those in need through various fundraisers. Larry loves to write and often sends letters of support to those who are combating an illness, or simply going through difficult times. Larry and his wife have two grandchildren Raelyn (11), and Harper (8). Raelyn is a 4th generation family member to attend South Side. Larry has been a committee member of the district's Hall of Fame program since 2007. Larry has served on the South Side Education Foundation as a board representative. Larry is now retired as an industrial rubber products sales rep with ERIKS North America in Findlay Township after 46 years with the company. Larry's board member term ends in 2025.

Craig Stewart
Craig was appointed to the South Side District Board of Directors in February 2018. After graduating from South Side (1993), he attended PSU where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture (1997). Following college he worked for the Davey Tree Expert Company in Pittsburgh where he was an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist. Switching gears in 2003, Craig began working at his family’s business, Stewart’s Collision Center, in Greene Township where he was a PA licensed Auto Damage Appraiser. Craig currently works as a GM of an auto body repair shop in Pittsburgh. A resident of Hanover Twp, Craig has 3 children, Trystan (2019), Olivia (2021) and Brianna (2023) who have all attended and have/will graduate from South Side. Craig serves on Negotiation Committees and is a past Board President. Craig’s board member term ends in 2025.
