Board Member Bios
Shelly Youree, Treasurer
Shelly has been a member of the South Side Area School District Board of Directors since 2001. She is a graduate of South Side Area School District in 1975 and of Bradford Business School in 1976. Shelly has been a past Vice-President and currently serving as Treasurer of the school district and also serving on the Citizen’s Advisory Committee and the negotiations committee for the professional staff. She has worked in the past as a receptionist for Heritage Valley. She and her husband Cam Youree have three children. All three are graduates of South Side. Her greatest moment has been to hand each of her children their high school diplomas. They are the proud grandparents of two grandchildren, Ty and Savanna. Shelly's board member term ends in 2025.

Craig Stewart
Craig was appointed to the South Side District Board of Directors in February 2018. After graduating from South Side (1993), he attended PSU where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture (1997). Following college he worked for the Davey Tree Expert Company in Pittsburgh where he was an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist. Switching gears in 2003, Craig began working at his family’s business, Stewart’s Collision Center, in Greene Township where he was a PA licensed Auto Damage Appraiser. Craig currently works as a GM of an auto body repair shop in Pittsburgh. A resident of Hanover Twp, Craig has 3 children, Trystan (2019), Olivia (2021) and Brianna (2023) who have all attended and have/will graduate from South Side. Craig serves on Negotiation Committees and is a past Board President. Craig’s board member term ends in 2025.

Julie Winterrowd
Julie was elected to the Board in November, 2023. She is a 2013 Beaver HS and Beaver County CTC Graphic Arts & Printing Graduate. She is an avid alumni of Beaver area JROTC and SkillsUSA. After graduation, she enrolled in the CCBC Nursing Program. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Codey Winterrowd in 2016, they moved back to Codey’s family roots in Hookstown, PA. Julie and Codey have five beautiful daughters together. All of their children are attending or will attend South Side schools. She is currently one of the South Side Elementary PTO Secretaries. Julie has been a Board Member of the Hanover Church Preschool since the fall of 2020. She is also a member of the Greene Township Planning Commission since 2022. In her spare time, Julie enjoys gardening, crafting, and running. Julie currently serves as the Chair to the SSSD Personnel Committee, District Chair to the BVIU, and a member of the SSSD Steering Committee. Julie's board member term ends in 2027.

Travis Frasier
Travis joined the board filling a vacant seat in 2022 and was elected in November of 2023 for a four year term. Born and raised in Hookstown, graduated from South Side in 1987 and Geneva College in 1991. Upon graduation from college Travis moved out of the area for work and returned to the district in 1998. His three daughters graduated from South Side in 2011 and 2014 and his son is attending South Side with a graduation date of 2028. Travis is currently serving on the Personnel, Buildings & Grounds, and Steering committees. Travis will complete his term in 2027.
